ello!
I wanted to make sure I had this card out early enough that you would have time to make it before Father's Day rolled around! I also used some items that will be retired on May 31st, 2018, so there is still some time to get them ordered before they are gone for good!
Those items are the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper and the Guy Greetings Stamp set. Get them while they last!! I hope you enjoy this card!
Project Recipe
Starting off you will need Very Vanilla card stock. 1- 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece and 1- 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece. True Gentleman DSP 1- 3" x 4 1/4"., and a bit extra for the sentiment tag.
Tranquil Tide piece cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" for the bow.
First, take the Very Vanilla card base, score at 4 1/2" and fold. Take the True Gentleman DSP and adhere it to the top of the card as shown.
Next take the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Very vanilla and using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder, run it through your Big Shot. Now measure and mark with pencil along the top of the paper 1 1/4" & 2 1/2" from the left, and 1/2" from the right side. From the 2 1/2" mark, measure down 2 1/2" and make a mark, then use your Paper Snips to cut out a "V" using the pencil marks as a guide. It should come out slightly offset as shown.
Adhere the cableknit piece to the card lining it up with the edges of the base card. Using the Bow Builder Punch, cut out the bow in Tranquil Tide card stock, and assemble. I like to use glue dots for this. Then you will attach it to the top of the card in the center of the "V".
For the shirt buttons, I used Basic Pearls and colored them with a Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blends pen. Yes, you can actually do that! Neat little tip for you there!
For the sentiment, use the Everyday Label punch, and cut out a piece in Very Vanilla, cut off the top and bottom as shown so you get a strip with rounded ends. From the Guy Greetings Stamp set, choose "To a Classic" and stamp it in Dapper Denim on this piece. Next punch out one in a coordinating piece of the DSP. Put dimensionals on the back of the sentiment and put it on the middle of the DSP tag. Put more dimensionals on the back of the tag. Cut a 4" bit of Corduroy Ribbon and glue it to the card at the bottom, then stick the sentiment on top of that as shown.
On the inside of the card, stamp in Dapper Denim "Happy Father's Day" (also from the Guy Greetings Set). You can then use the "Dad" stamp and the "No one else can fill your shoes" stamp and put them on tag and adhere below. Use a Dauber on the edges to give it some color. This can also be done with Grandpa, Husband, Uncle etc. stamps if you like.
Something I have just started doing for my customers is giving them the choice of sentiments to use. I keep several options on hand with a bit of tear tape on the back so they can be quickly added. I have found they really like this!
Happy Stamping!!
