A n 8"x8" picture featuring hand-coloured Butterflies in a re-purposed frame from Poundland.
Project Recipe
To make your template, take a piece of small Grid Paper designed for the Stamparatus. Make a pencil marks at 1" right, 6" up; 6" right, 6" up; 1" right, 1" up; 6" right, 1" up. Join the four marks to form a 5" x 5" square.
Make new pencil marks at 3.5" right, 7" up; 7" right, 3.5" up; 3.5" right, 0" up; 0" right, 3.5" up. Join these marks to form a square on its points.
To add a template for 4"x4" and 3"x3" cards, repeat above brining the measurements inside each line by 1/2" then 1" using two different colours as shown.
The frame I used was a cheap bathroom picture from Poundland - it doesn’t matter what is written on it as you will be covering it up.
Take a piece of coloured card measuring the same size as the inner aperture of your frame (approx 8"x8"). Using the two "bubbles" stamps from the Beauty Abounds Stamp Set, randomly stamp over the card using the co-ordinating Classic Ink Pad".
Using liquid adhesive, adhere the stamped card piece to the frame as shown.
Take a piece of A4 Whisper White Cardstock and cut a piece measuring 5"x5". On the remainder of the sheet stamp 8 Butterfly Duos using Memento Ink. Colour them using Stampin' Blends then punch them out using the Butterfly Duet Punch. On a scrap of card, punch out a Butterfly Duo as a template for placing your Butterflies on the 5"x5" card piece.
Place your wreath template on a flat surface. Line your 5"x5" Whisper White square up with the lines for your template square. Take a couple of pieces of washi tape and stick them to your clothes a few times to 'de-tack' them, then use these to stick your card down to the template sheet.
Line up your Butterfly template as shown, and stick that to the template sheet.
Curl the wings of the large butterflies with your fingers or a bone folder and attach a dimensional to the back. Line up the bottom wings into the punch template as shown and stick the butterfly down. Carefully pull the template over the butterfly without un-taping it.
Move the piece of card one point to the left and stick it back down. Repeat until all 8 large butterflies are attached in a circle.
Attach the wreath to the centre of the stamped background with liquid adhesive.
Stamp your sentiment using the matching Classic Ink onto a scrap of Whisper White card. Using the middle two circles from the Stitched Shapes dies, cut the largest one from a scrap of coloured card and use the smaller one to cut out your sentiment.
Attach the coloured circle to ththe cents of the wreath with liquid adhesive, then the Whisper White circle using Stampin' Dimensionals as shown.
Using your finger nail make a crease along the sides of the body on the eight little butterflies to raise the wings then curl them using your fingers or a bone folder.
Apply a small amount of liquid adhesive along the back of each body, then attach them to the fram as shown.
Your picture is now finished so sit back and admire your creation
