S oft and pretty sympathy card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Seaside Spray Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3" x 5-1/2" of mottled blue, white, pink, and orange fabric design from Woven Threads Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 3-3/8" from Terracotta Tile Cardstock
- 2-5/8" x 3-1/4 from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the strip of Woven Threads Designer Series Paper down the center of the front of the Seaside Spray card.
Mount the large butterfly with folded wings image from the Butterfly Wishes Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it near the top on the right side of the larger Whisper White rectangle so the antennae touch the right side of the cardstock. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the large butterfly with folded wings image on Block C with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it on a Post-It Note so the wings are over the sticky part on the back of the note.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the butterfly image on the Post-It Note just inside the stamped lines along the bottom and left edges.
Put the Post-It Note butterfly over the top of the butterfly stamped on the white rectangle.
Remove the Post-It Note butterfly.
Tip: Put the Post-It Note butterfly inside the stamp case to use on future projects where you want to do some masking.
Mount the large, flat, butterfly with open wings image from the Butterfly Wishes Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Hold the brush tip of the Terracotta Tile Marker over the inked up butterfly and tap it onto the wings multiple times. Also use the brush tip of the Marker to color in the body. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp it on the larger white rectangle at an angle so it overlaps the left side of the butterfly Post-It Note just a bit and the upper right wing is about 1/4" from the top of the white rectangle. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.

Mount the small, flying butterfly image from the Butterfly Wishes Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Stamp it on the larger white rectangle at an angle so it overlaps the bottom left side of the butterfly Post-It Note just a bit and almost touches the left and bottom sides of the white rectangle.
Adhere the stamped, large, white rectangle to the center of the large Terracotta Tile rectangle.
Adhere the matted white rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 1" from the top edge.
Mount the "With Sympathy" sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom of stamped white rectangle in the right corner so it is just below the stamped butterfly image.
Pick out the ticket shaped label die with some stitching on the ends from the Perfect Parcel Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment cut out to the left side of the matted white rectangle. It's okay if it overlaps the butterflies a bit.
Cut a 10" piece of the Seaside Spray 1/4" Metallic Ribbon.
Tie the ribbon in a small bow and trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the card front in the lower right corner of the matted white rectangle just below the sentiment cut out.
