Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Purple Posy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Rococo Rose Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of large gray peonies all over white background design from Peony Garden Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Rococo Rose Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Peony Garden Designer Paper to the center of the 4" x 5-1/4" Rococo Rose rectangle. Then, adhere them to the front of the Purple Posy card.
Cut a 5-1/2" piece of the Purple Posy 1/2" ribbon from the Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack. Fold the ribbon length wise on one end. Cut at a sharp angle towards the fold in the ribbon to notch the end. Repeat with the other side.
Lay the ribbon horizontally across the center of the front of the card. Tear off a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Place the piece of Tear & Tape vertically across the center of the ribbon to hold it in place. Leave the protective backing on the Tear & Tape strip for now.
Pick out the detailed, floral rectangle die from the Ornate Layers Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 2" x 3-3/8". Put it on top of the 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" Rococo Rose rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
As you are ready to stamp using the Butterfly Gala Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "thank you so very much" sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Rococo Rose Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/8" x 2-1/2" white rectangle.
Adhere the stamped sentiment rectangle to the center of the detailed, floral rectangle cut out.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive and add some Stampin' Seal to the back of the layered sentiment rectangle. Adhere the layered sentiment rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered.
Mount one of the butterfly set images from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block D. Ink up the large butterfly by pressing it to the Rococo Rose Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the remaining white cardstock strip. Leave the stamp on the block.
Mount the solid, large, top wings image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it inside the top wings of the stamped large butterfly image.
Mount the solid, large, bottom wings image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it inside the bottom wings of the stamped large butterfly image.
Unlock the Butterfly Duet Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the large stamped butterfly image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked. Save the rest of the white strip to use in a later step.
Mount the larger, solid butterfly body image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Rococo Rose Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the large, stamped butterfly punch out.
Tip: I find it easier to line up the body for the butterfly if I punch the image out first.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the butterfly punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the upper left corner of the framed sentiment rectangle.
Ink up the small butterfly on the set of butterfly images on Block D by pressing it to the Rococo Rose Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the remaining white cardstock strip.
Mount the solid, small, butterfly image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it inside the small detailed butterfly image.
Hold the unlocked Butterfly Duet punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped small butterfly into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Mount the smaller, solid butterfly body image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Rococo Rose Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the small, stamped butterfly punch out.
Tip: I find it easier to line up the body for the butterfly if I punch the image out first.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the small butterfly punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower right corner of the framed sentiment rectangle.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large Purple Posy or Rococo Rose butterfly gem and one small Purple Posy or Rococo Rose butterfly Gem from a sheet of Butterfly Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere the large butterfly gem to the center of the large butterfly punch out and the small butterfly gem to the center of the small butterfly punch out.
