B right, fun birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Mango Melody Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-3/8" x 4-1/8" of orange confetti on light yellow background design from Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper
- 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Tip: To make it easier to grab the magnets and to help keep them from breaking if they snap together, wrap them in strips of washi tape or masking tape leaving folded over pieces to grab on to.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on the foam mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the 3-3/4” x 5” piece of Whisper White Cardstock on the base of the Stamparatus so the cardstock is horizontal. Use one magnet across the bottom to hold the cardstock in place. Make a note of where you placed the cardstock on the grid paper.
Pick out the square, confetti-covered present image from the Bonanza Buddies Photopolymer Stamp Set. Place the image upside down on the white cardstock on the Stamparatus base so that the image is in the upper left corner of the cardstock. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue or the Simply Shammy. Close the plate onto the white cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Daffodil Delight Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Use the Simply Shammy to completely clean the stamp. Leave the stamp on the plate.
Remove the plate from the hinges and then reinsert it in the hinges one step down. Leave the cardstock in place. Re-ink the stamp on the plate, but this time use the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp. Make sure the cardstock stays in the same place. Adjust the position of the magnet as needed.

Use the Simply Shammy to completely clean the stamp. Leave the stamp on the plate.
Repeat the steps above alternating using the Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody Inks until you have 4 square presents stamped down the left side of the cardstock. The bottom of the 4th (Mango Melody) square present should go off the bottom of the cardstock. Remember to clean the stamp between colors and remember to step down one hinge each time.
Use the Simply Shammy to completely clean the stamp. Remove the stamp from the plate.
Insert the hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side again so it is in the topmost hinge space.
Put the square, confetti-covered present image upside down on the white cardstock on the Stamparatus base so that the image is about 1/4" to the right of the first present in the upper left corner and the top of the present goes off the top of the cardstock. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Repeat the steps to stamp the present image alternating using the Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody Inks until you have 4 square presents stamped down the left side of the cardstock about 1/4" to the right of the previous row. The top of the 1st (Mango Melody) square present should go off the top of the cardstock. Remember to clean the stamp between colors and remember to step down one hinge each time.
As you are ready to stamp using the Bonanza Buddies Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the bow with even, criss-crossing, straight strings image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block A. Ink it up using the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of each of the Daffodil Delight present squares on the stamped white rectangle. Clean the stamp, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the bow with even, criss-crossing, straight strings image on Block A using the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of each of the Mango Melody present squares on the stamped white rectangle. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Pick out the tag die from the Bonanza Dies. Put it on top of the Birthday Bonanza Designer Paper on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Mount the "Let's Celebrate You!" sentiment from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom edge of the tag when the top of the tag is on the left so the sentiment is centered side to side.
WITHOUT adhering, place the tag on top of the stamped white layer so the top of the tag is on the left and overlaps the inside row of presents a bit and the bottom of the tag is about 3/8" from the bottom of the white layer.
Mount the set of three crossing strings image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block B. Ink it up using the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp the strings on the stamped white cardstock/designer paper tag so they go off the top edge of the designer paper tag about 1/2" to the right of the angle in the tag and the bottoms of the strings are about 1/2" above the word "Let's" on the tag.
Cut a 4" piece of Crushed Curry 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Cut an 8" piece of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.
Slide the ribbon through the hole in the designer paper tag and get it centered. Tie the ribbon in place using the Baker's Twine tied in a small bow. Trim the ends of the ribbon and twine.
Adhere the stamped designer paper tag with ribbon tied in place to the stamped white layer so the strings for the balloons line up. Trim off any excess designer paper on the right side of the cardstock as needed using Paper Snips.
Adhere the stamped white layer with designer paper tag attached to the Daffodil Delight rectangle and then to the front of the Mango Melody card.
Mount the lion body and head image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2" white square.
Mount the lion face image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it over the corresponding area of the previously stamped lion head image.
Pick out the lion body and head die from the Bonanza Dies. Put it on top of the stamped lion body and head image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so it is centered over the image. Run through the tool.
Note: The body and the head are cut apart.
Adhere the lion body cut out to the front of the card so it is centered just over the sentiment stamped on the designer paper tag and the left paw appears to be holding the bottom of the balloon strings.
Mount the lion's mane and tail tuft image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-3/4" x 2" white rectangle.
Pick out the lion's mane and tail tuft die from the Bonanza Dies. Put it on top of the stamped lion's mane and tail tuft image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so it is centered over the image. Run through the tool.
Note: The mane and tail tuft are cut apart.
Use a squished up Mini Glue Dot to adhere the tail tuft to the end of the lion's tail.
Adhere the lion's mane to the top of the body.
Use a single Stampin' Dimensional in the center of the back of the head to adhere the lion's head to the center of the mane.
Mount the striped party hat bottom image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp the image on one end of the long strip of white cardstock.
Mount the solid circle balloon image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the long strip of white cardstock. Leave space between the images so they can be cut out with the dies. Clean the stamp, but leave it on the block
Re-ink the solid circle balloon image on Block A using the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the long strip of white cardstock. Leave space between the images so they can be cut out with the dies. Clean the stamp, but leave it on the block
Re-ink the solid circle balloon image on Block A using the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the long strip of white cardstock. Leave space between the images so they can be cut out with the dies. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Pick out the triangle party hat bottom die and the small circle balloon die from the Bonanza Dies. Put them on top of the stamped hat bottom and one of the balloon images on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so they are centered over the images. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the tool. Repeat with the other two balloon images until you've cut out the hat bottom and all three balloons.
Adhere the party hat cut out to the front of the card at the top of the lion's head at a slight angle to the right so it overlaps the mane.
Adhere the Terracotta Tile balloon to the top of the string on the left. Adhere the Daffodil Delight balloon to the top of the string on the right. Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the Mango Melody balloon to the top of the center string.
Pick out a Grapefruit Grove pompom from the Assorted Pompoms. Press the pompom to a Mini Glue Dot on the roll of glue dots. Adhere the pompom to the top of the party hat.
