P retty card with a window strip using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, Window Sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Powder Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 5-3/4" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 5-1/4" from Window Sheets
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Powder Pink Cardstock
- 2-5/8" x 3-5/8" from Powder Pink Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" of Powder Pink floral bouquets on white background design from Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack
- scrap from Whisper White Cardstock
WITHOUT adhering, place the large white rectangle on the inside of the card. Close the front of the card. WITHOUT adhering, lay the 2-5/8" x 3-5/8" rectangle of Powder Pink Cardstock on the left side.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Blossoming Basket Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Powder Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it to the right of the Powder Pink rectangle just below the top flap.
When you are happy with the stamping of the sentiment, adhere the white layer to the inside of the card.
Make sure the top flap of the card front is folded closed.
Place a long strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on one long edge of the Window Sheet piece. Remove the protective backing and adhere the Window Sheet to the bottom edge of the top flap of the card front so it lines up with the sides of the white layer on the inside.
Put another strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the top of the Window Sheet where it is adhered to the front card flap. Remove the protective backing.
Put some SNAIL on the back of one of the strips of Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper and adhere the strip to the front card flap so it lines up with the sides of the Window Sheet piece and has an even border of pink showing all around it.
Open the front of the card. Put a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the bottom long edge of the Window Sheet piece. Lay the long strip of Powder Pink on the bottom flap of the card making sure it is even with the bottom and side edges. Remove the protective backing on the Tear & Tape and close the front of the card adhering the bottom of the Window Sheet to the pink strip.
Put another strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the top of the Window Sheet where it is adhered to the front of the card bottom. Remove the protective backing.
Put some SNAIL on the back of another strip of Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper and adhere the strip to the bottom front of the card so it lines up with the sides of the Window Sheet piece and has an even border of pink showing all around it.
Cut a 36" piece of Peekaboo Peach Baker's Twine.
Adhere one end of the twine to the card front at the top of the bottom strip of designer paper about 1-1/2" in from the left edge using a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backing in place.
Wrap the twine around the card front a couple of times and secure the end in place using Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backing in place.
Make sure you have some Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink.
Mount the basket of flowers image from the Blossoming Basket Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Powder Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white rectangle. The edges will go off the sides.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Powder Pink Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub a little of the ink off onto the Grid Paper. Then, add color to the flowers in the basket by lightly rubbing across them with the inky Sponge Dauber. Get more ink on the dauber as needed. Keep adding ink until you have the color saturation you want.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the stamped and sponged white rectangle to the large Powder Pink rectangle.
Put a line of Stampin' Dimensionals across the top and bottom only of the back of the pink rectangle. Remove the protective backings. Adhere the matted rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered up and down over the Window Sheet strip. Make sure that the sentiment is NOT covered.
Mount the butterfly image from the Blossoming Basket Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Powder Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of Whisper White.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the butterfly by hand.
Cut a thin strip of Stampin' Dimensionals from the edge of a sheet of Dimensionals. Use it to adhere the butterfly cut out to the upper left of the basket handle.
Cut a 25" piece of Peekaboo Peach Baker's Twine.
Fold the ribbon on itself so it is three layers.
Tie a small bow in the center. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the edge of the main image white panel at a slight angle so it is over the twine on the card front.
