P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 4" square of diagonal wood planks design from Heart & Home Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1/2" x 3-1/2" from Misty Moonlight
Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 1-5/8" x 2-1/8" from Adhesive Sheets
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a Cinnamon Cider doily from the Heart & Home Doilies in half.
Adhere the half doily to the left side of the large, horizontal Garden Green rectangle so it is centered up and and down and almost touches the left edge.
Adhere the square of Heart & Home Designer Paper to the Garden Green rectangle so it covers the right edge of the cut doily and is about 1/8" from the right edge of the rectangle. The top and bottom edges will be even.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the 3/8" Denim Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock/doily/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the doily and designer paper. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back of the rectangle using strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Garden Green rectangle. Adhere to the front of the Cinnamon Cider card.
Mount the large flower bouquet image from the Blessings Of Home Stamp Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle.
Pick out the matching, large, open bouquet die from the Flowers Of Home Dies. Put it on top of the stamped bouquet image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut an image out with dies before spending all the time to color it in. That way if the die slips during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Squeeze the lid of the Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use a Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the centers of the three larger flowers. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Squeeze the lid of the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use a Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the centers of the tiny flowers in the bouquet. Also use the Blender Pen with Misty Moonlight to color over the darker areas of the three larger flower petals. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Squeeze the lid of the Garden Green Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use a Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the leaves of the bouquet and the centers of the medium-sized flowers. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bouquet to the front of the card as shown.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the small Garden Green rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the leafy branch that curves to the left die and the small, spiky-leafed branch die from the Flowers Of Home Dies. Put them on top of the Garden Green rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Garden Green side is face up. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
One at a time, carefully remove the protective backings from the leaf branch cut outs. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown so the ends of the stems tuck under the flower bouquet cut out.
Mount the "Have a Perfect Birthday" sentiment from the Blessings Of Home Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the thin strip of Misty Moonlight.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the sentiment by hand so it has a sharp angle on each end.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a thin strip off the edge of the Stampin' Dimensionals sheet. Adhere to the back of the sentiment strip in the center. Remove the protective backing and adhere the sentiment strip to the front of the card so it overlaps the top left side of the bouquet cut out and the top of the ribbon as shown.
