F un birthday card for anyone who enjoys riding a bike using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and foil sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Pool Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Dapper Denim Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-7/8" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Silver Foil Sheets
As you are ready to stamp on each piece of cardstock using the Happy Celebrations Set or Bike Ride Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Be sure to put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the large, solid, non-streaky "Happy" image from the Happy Celebrations Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom of the large white rectangle as close to the bottom and right side as you can get. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the "Happy" stamp again with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper to remove some of the ink. Stamp it onto the large white rectangle without re-inking so it is just above the previously stamped word. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the "Happy" stamp again with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp twice onto Grid Paper to remove most of the ink. Stamp it onto the large white rectangle without re-inking so it is just above the previously stamped words.
Mount the "Birthday to You!" sentiment from the Happy Celebrations Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Dapper Denim Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the stamped large white rectangle so it overlaps the "appy" in the darkest "happy."
Pick out the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder with the word "Celebrate." Open the Embossing Folder in front of you. Lightly rub the open Dapper Denim Ink Pad over the word on the inside of the back flap (the one without the logos on it). You are just trying to get a little ink on the raised areas. Use a tissue or baby wipe to clean off excess ink on the folder.
Place the skinny Pool Party rectangle into the Embossing Folder so it is centered over the word "celebrate". Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot. You should have an indented, dark blue word embossed on the cardstock.
Adhere the dry embossed Pool Party strip to the left side of the large, stamped white rectangle so the word "celebrate" is vertical.
Adhere the white rectangle to the Dapper Denim rectangle.
Cut a 5" piece of Lemon Lime Twist 3/8" Mini Striped Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock layers so it covers the seam between the dry embossed Pool Party and stamped white layers. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Pool Party card.
Mount the bicycle frame image from the Bike Ride Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Dapper Denim Ink Pad and stamp in the center of the 2-1/2" x 3" white rectangle.
Mount the solid handle bar grips image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad and stamp it inside the handle bar grips on the Dapper Denim image.
Mount the solid pedal image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad and stamp it inside the pedal on the Dapper Denim image.
Mount the solid seat image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad and stamp it inside the seat on the Dapper Denim image.
Pick out the bike frame framelit from the Build a Bike Framelits. Place the stamped bike frame image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the bike frame framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped bike frame image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the large circle with spokes image from the Bike Ride Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it on one of the 2" white squares. Reink the stamp with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad and stamp it on the other 2" white square.
Mount the smaller open circle image from the Bike Ride Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one of the previously stamped wheel images. Re-ink the stamp and stamp in the center of the other stamped wheel image.
Pick out the open circle framelit from the Build a Bike Framelits. Place one of the stamped wheel images on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped wheel image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other wheel image.
Put a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the frame image near the bend at the back of the frame. Adhere the frame to one of the wheels so the bend in the frame is centered over the center of the wheel.
Put another Mini Glue Dot on the back of the frame image at the base of the frame on the front of the bike. Adhere the other wheel to the frame so that the base of the frame on the front of the bike is in the center of the wheel.
Pick out the open, flag-shaped, rack framelit from the Build a Bike Framelits. Place the scrap of Silver Foil Sheets SILVER SIDE DOWN on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the rack framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Put a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the silver rack on the bottom of the straight piece that sticks down from the triangle. Squish it with your fingers so it doesn't stick out on the edges. Adhere it to the back bike wheel in the center of the wheel so the flat top is just above the back wheel.
Put a few regular Stampin' Dimensionals on the backs of each wheel and some Mini Stampin' Dimensionals scattered around the back of the frame. Peel off the protective backings and adhere the bike to the front of the card so the back wheel overlaps the right edge of the ribbon a bit and the wheels just overlap the top of the darkest "Happy" sentiment a little bit.
Mount the outline stack of books image from the Bike Ride Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Dapper Denim Ink Pad and stamp in the center of the remaining small white square.
Mount the set of three solid book spines image from the Bike Ride Photopolymer Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp over the top of the stack of books image.
Mount the image from the Bike Ride Photopolymer Set that has two thin lines on top, a book spine in the middle, and two more thin lines on bottom on Block B. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the stack of books image.
Pick out the matching stack of books framelit from the Build a Bike Framelits. Place the stamped stack of books image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stack of books framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped stack of books image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Put a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the stack of books cut out. Peel off the protective backings and adhere the stack of books to the card front so it appears to be sitting on the rack on the back of the bike and overlaps the right edge of the ribbon a bit.
Carefully remove 2 small dark Dapper Denim circles from a sheet of Glitter Enamel Dots making sure you get the adhesive as well as the circle. Adhere to the bottoms of the bike frame over the center of the wheels.
