G orgeous birthday card for a special lady using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" of green leaves design from Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- tiny scrap of green leaves design from Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper
Mount the lady with a hat image from the Beautiful You Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the vertical Very Vanilla rectangle so the top is about 1/4" from the top and the right edge is about 1/2" from the right. Leave the stamp on the block.
Mount the larger, more open scribble image from the Beautiful You Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it to the left of the stamped lady image about even with her waist.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Beautiful You Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it over the scribble image on the vanilla rectangle.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped vanilla rectangle on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the light colors first and add highlights with the darker colors. If needed to blend the colors, go over things again with the lighter colors. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Ivory Marker to color in the lady's face, neck, and arms.
Use the Dark and Light Daffodil Delight Markers to color in the lady's dress from the hips up and the underside of her hat.
Use the Color Lifter Marker to remove any color that got anywhere you don't want it.
Adhere the stamped and colored vanilla rectangle to the Garden Green rectangle and then to the front of the Daffodil Delight card.
Pick out the detailed peacock die from the Detailed Peacock Dies. Put the die on top of the green leaves Mosaic Mood Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Make sure the green leaves side of the designer paper is face up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Save a couple of the corners to use to stamp the lady's hat in a later step.
Pick out the open peacock die from the Detailed Peacock Dies. Put the die on top of the Daffodil Delight rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Adhere the detailed cut out to the Daffodil Delight cut out so they line up as closely as possible. Use either the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere them.
Use Paper Snips to trim off excess Daffodil Delight Cardstock along the edges if desired.
Use Paper Snips to cut off the top of the layered dies so the top edge is only about 3/8" wide.
Cut a 1-1/4" piece of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8" Reversible Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the top of the layered dies so the shinier, greener side is face up and the top of the ribbon is even with the top of the layered dies. Secure on the back side with small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and pieces and add SNAIL to the back of the Daffodil Delight cut out. Adhere the die cuts to the card front so they become the bottom of the lady's dress.
Re-ink the lady with a hat image on Block H with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on a scrap of green leaves Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper that you saved earlier.
Use Paper Snips to carefully cut out the top of the hat.
Use Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the top of the hat cut out to the top of the hat on the lady image.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a Crushed Curry flower gem from a sheet of Flower Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the lady's skirt on the bottom right side of the ribbon layer.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a Pretty Peacock, more solid leaf shape from a sheet of Dinoroar Enamel Shapes making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the lady's hat at an angle as a feather.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small Pretty Peacock rhinestone from a sheet of Noble Peacock Rhinestones making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the lady's hat at the base of the enamel shape "feather."
