P retty birthday card made using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer and Paper Snips:
- card from cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4" (I used Grapefruit Grove, Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry)
- 4" x 5-1/4" from cardstock (I used Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Highland Heather)
- 4-1/4" strip of small scallops below solid line lace design from Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper
- 3-1/4" square from cardstock (I used Grapefruit Grove, Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry)
- scrap of cardstock at least 1-3/4" wide (I used Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Highland Heather)
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
- 3 scraps of Whisper White Cardstock each at least 1-1/4" square
Insert the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of cardstock into the Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so about 1" of the cardstock hangs out at the bottom of the folder.
Place the folder with the card stock inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
If you haven't already done so, use Paper Snips to cut a 4-1/4" long strip of the small scallops below solid line lace design from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the strip of lace paper to the bottom of the dry embossed 4" x 5-1/4" piece of cardstock so it is about 3/4" from the bottom. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess lace paper strip on the sides.
Adhere the dry embossed layer with the lace strip adhered to the front of the card.
Pick out the large circle thinlit with pointy bits and scallops from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits. Place the large square of cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the large circle thinlit on top.
Pick out the small circle thinlit with diamonds and scallops around the edges from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits. Place the small circle thinlit on top of the cardstock on the Big Shot so it is centered inside the larger circle. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Use Paper Snips to cut the large circle cut out free from the surrounding cardstock square.
Adhere the medallion cut out to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals so it is centered side to side and about 1/2" from the top.
As you are ready to stamp using the Beautiful Bouquet Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Happy Birthday" or "Thanks A Bunch" sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet Set on Block B. Ink it up with the ink color of choice (I used Grapefruit Grove, Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry). Stamp it in the center of the scrap of white cardstock that is at least 1-1/2" wide.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the scrap of colored cardstock that is at least 1-3/4" wide into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the center of the colored circle. Then, adhere it to the center of the medallion on the card front.
Mount the pointy flower image from the Beautiful Bouquet Set on Block A.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open ink pad of choice to get it inky. Then, dab the inky dauber onto the flower stamp until it is completely covered in ink. Get more ink on the dauber as needed. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp it on one of the small white scraps. Repeat two more times onto two more white scraps so you have 3 stamped flowers.
Tip: Using a Sponge Dauber to ink up a stamp that has fine lines cut into a more solid image is a good way to get ink on the stamp for complete coverage but so you can still see the fine lines.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the matching, open flower framelit from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits. Place one of the stamped flower images on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the open flower framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other two stamped flowers.
Tip: You may have to rotate the framelit slightly to line it up on the stamped image.
Adhere one flower cut out to the bottom right side of the matted sentiment circles on the card front.
Adhere another flower cut out to the lower left side of the card front so it overlaps the piece of lace paper. Then, use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the final flower just to the right so it overlaps the other flower and the lace paper.
Carefully peel up 3 tiny pearls from a sheet of Pearl Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flowers.
