Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- 2 pieces each 6-1/4" x 4" from cardstock (I used Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, and Terracotta Tile)
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" from cardstock (I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Cinnamon Cider)
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock for bat box
- 1-1/4" square from Daffodil Delight Cardstock for jack o'lantern box
- 1-1/4" square from Bumblebee Cardstock for spider web box
Pick out the half box die from the Perfect Parcel Dies. Put it on top of one of the large cardstock rectangles on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other large cardstock rectangle.
Fold on all score lines on both box half pieces using a Bone Folder.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the tabs on the ends of both box half pieces as shown.
Put small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the upper corners of both box half pieces as shown. Make sure these pieces are on the opposite side from the Tear & Tape pieces on the end tabs.
Remove the protective backing on the Tear & Tape pieces on the tab ends of one box half piece. Adhere it to the other box half piece as shown. Make sure the flat edges of each box half piece are on the bottom. Make sure the score lines match up.
Tip: Roll excess Tear & Tape hanging over the edge of the end tabs inward using your fingers.
As you are ready to stamp using the Banner Year Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Place the long box piece on top of the paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat so the long flat edge is at the top. Mount the stamp of choice from the Banner Year Set on an appropriate size block and stamp it randomly all over the box piece. Let some of the images go off the edges. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
For the bat box, use the bat image on Block B inked up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad.
For the jack o'lantern box, use the pumpkin base image on Block A inked up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad; the pumpkin stem and leaf image on Block A inked up with the Old Olive Ink Pad and stamped on the top of each pumpkin image; and the jack o'lantern face image on Block A inked up with the Memento Pad and stamped over each pumpkin image.
For the spider web box, use the spider web image on Block A inked up with the Memento Pad.
After stamping all over the box piece, proceed to assemble the box. Remove the protective backing on the Tear & Tape pieces on the tab ends of the other box half piece. Adhere it to the other end of the other box half piece to make the rectangle box. Make sure the score lines match up.
Tip: Roll excess Tear & Tape hanging over the edge of the end tabs inward using your fingers.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape pieces on one of the triangles on the bottom of the box and adhere it to the bottom side flap of the box. Repeat with the triangle on the other side.
Push down on the bottom of the box to make the long flaps tuck under the triangle end flaps as shown.
Fold the long flaps of the top of the box inward so the pointy flaps stick out to the sides as shown.
Open the top flaps and put in whatever treats you want in the box. Close the top flaps again and tuck the pointy end flaps into the slits cut into the sides of the box. One side of the box is shown.
The top of the closed box should look like this.
Mount the "Boo!" sentiment or the "Happy Haunting" sentiment from the Banner Year Set on an appropriate size block and stamp it on the small rectangle of cardstock near the left edge, but leave room to cut it out.
For the bat box, use the "Happy Haunting" sentiment on Block B inked up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad and stamped on the Pumpkin Pie rectangle.
For the jack o'lantern box, use the "Boo" sentiment on Block A inked up with the Memento Pad and stamped on the Old Olive rectangle.
For the spider web box, use the "Boo" sentiment on Block A inked up with the Memento Pad and stamped on the Cinnamon Cider rectangle.
Pick out the open, stitched, label die from the Perfect Parcel Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered top to bottom and near the left edge of the interior of the die. Run through the machine. Keep both pieces of cardstock.
Place the cut out sentiment label back inside the rectangle it was cut from. Use a pencil to draw a small, solid circle where you want to punch the tag on the left side to make a ribbon hole.
Unlock the Label Me Fancy Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the left side of the sentiment label cut out into the side of the open Label Me Fancy Punch and get the small hole punching area centered over the pencil mark. Punch.
For the bat box, use the bat image on Block B inked up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad to stamp a bat on the small piece of Rich Razzleberry.Cardstock.
For the jack o'lantern box, use the pumpkin base image on Block A inked up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad and stamp it on the small square of Daffodil Delight Cardstock. Next, stamp the pumpkin stem and leaf image on Block A inked up with the Old Olive Ink Pad on the top of the pumpkin image. Then, stamp the jack o'lantern face image on Block A inked up with the Memento Pad over the pumpkin image.
For the spider web box, use the spider web image on Block A inked up with the Memento Pad and stamp it on the small square of Bumblebee Cardstock..
Cut out the stamped bat, jack o'lantern, or spider web image by hand using Paper Snips.
Use mini dimensionals from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere the bat, jack o'lantern, or spider web cut out to the right edge of the sentiment label cut out.
Cut a 14" piece of ribbon.
For the bat box, use Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
For the jack o'lantern box, use the Old Olive ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.
For the spider web box, use the Bumblebee 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.
Tie the ribbon around the left side of the filled and closed box. Thread the sentiment label cut out onto one end of the ribbon and tie in place using a knot. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
