N ature inspired hello card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" of green leaves and berries on white background design from Coffee Break Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 5" of stripes of light blue chevrons on white background design from Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical
- 2" x 3" of light green stripes on white background design from Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are horizontal
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Place the large rectangle of Coffee Break Designer Paper (the one with the dark green leaves and berries on white) on a sheet of Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Roll the Sponge Brayer across the open Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, roll it repeatedly onto the piece of designer paper. Get more ink on the brayer as needed. Keep adding ink until you have the color saturation you want.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Brayers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the altered designer paper rectangle to the center of the Garden Green rectangle and then to the front of the Pear Pizzazz card.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Insert the strip of light blue chevrons designer paper into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Unlock the Ticket Tear Border Punch. Slide the unpunched short end of the strip of designer paper into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched designer paper over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat until the entire length has been punched.
Tip: I sometimes find it easier to line things up with this punch if I turn the punch over so I can see the punching area. I then line up the punched areas with the designs of the punch before punching again.
Cut a 3" piece of Garden Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the top of the punched designer paper strip just below the jagged edge at the top . Flip the designer paper strip over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the designer paper. Adhere it to the front of the card on the left side.
Unlock the Best Badge Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the light green striped piece of designer paper into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the badge punch out to the designer paper banner on the card front so it is about 1/4" below the ribbon.
Punch out a large leaf sprig from a sheet of Touches of Nature Elements.
Put Mini Glue Dots on the wood color side of the leaf sprig and adhere it to the card front so the white side is showing and the sprig curves to the right covering the upper right side of the badge punch out.
Mount the "a little hello" banner sentiment from the Badges & Banners Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip of cardstock.
Unlock the Duet Banner Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment banner into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding banner punching area. Punch.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment banner punch out to the card front so it is centered over the top of the badge punch out and covers the end of the wooden leaf element.
Carefully peel up a Garden Green heart shape from a sheet of Regals Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the lower left side of the badge punch out.
Carefully peel up a large and a small Garden Green circle from a sheet of Regals Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the card front.
Cut a 4" piece of Garden Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie it in place on the left side using a half knot. Trim the ends.
