Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Misty Moonlight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 2-3/4" square from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 2-3/4"square of marbled blue design from Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 3/4" x 3" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
Insert the large Balmy Blue rectangle into the Bark 3D Embossing Folder so the lines will run horizontally across the vertical rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Mount the otter poking his head out of the water image from the Awesome Otters Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the marbled designer paper square.
Pick out the smooth circle die that cuts out a 2-1/8" circle from the Layering Circles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped designer paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Pick out the smooth circle die that cuts out a 2-3/8" circle from the Layering Circles Dies. Put it on top of the Balmy Blue square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Put the stamped designer paper circle cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the outer layer of fur on the otter's head and his nose.
Use the Light Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the otter's lower face and belly fur.
Use the Light Night Of Navy Stampin' Blends to color in the water droplets around the otter.
Adhere the colored designer paper circle cut out to the center of the Balmy Blue circle cut out.
Pick out a Misty Moonlight doily from the Heart & Home Doilies.
Adhere the matted designer paper otter circle cut out to the center of the doily.
Adhere the doily to the dry embossed Balmy Blue rectangle on the lower right side as shown.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the 3/8" Denim Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock/doily rectangle so the top of the ribbon is centered between the bottom of the stamped waves and the bottom of the matted designer paper/cardstock circle. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back of the rectangle using strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Balmy Blue rectangle. Adhere to the front of the Misty Moonlight card.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Balmy Blue strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notched top) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat with the other end.
Mount the "You are otterly awesome" sentiment from the Awesome Otters Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched sentiment strip.
Place a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally across the back of the stamped, punched sentiment strip. Remove the protective backing and adhere the sentiment punch out to the ribbon on the card front so it is centered over the ribbon and centered between the edges of the doily.
Use the brush tip of the Light Night Of Navy Stampin' Blends to color 2 of the silver circle shaped epoxy shapes while they are on the sheet of Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored circle shaped epoxy shapes from the sheet making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to either end of the sentiment punch out.
