P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/4" of swirls of pinks and oranges design from Fine Art Gallery Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 5-1/4" of rows of white four-pointed flowers and dots on red and pink swirls background design from Fine Art Gallery Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Lightly rub the Poppy Parade Ink Pad across the inside of the front flap (the one with the Stampin' Up! logo on it) of the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Insert the large Flirty Flamingo rectangle into the inked up embossing folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Tip: I just clean the folder when I'm done by running water over it until the water runs clear. Then I let it air dry.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one short edge of one of the Fine Art Gallery Designer Paper strips into the punch as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat with the other strip of designer paper.
Adhere the punched swirls of pinks and oranges strip on the dry embossed Flirty Flamingo rectangle so the bottom edge is about 3/8" from the bottom of dry embossed rectangle and the flat edge is on the left and even with the left side of the dry embossed rectangle.
Adhere the other punched strip of designer paper to the dry embossed rectangle so it overlaps the first designer paper strip about half way and the inner part of the notch is about 1" from the outer notches of the first strip. Use Paper Snips to cut off excess designer paper on the left edge.
Adhere the dry embossed rectangle with designer paper strips attached to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Art Gallery Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Art Gallery Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the skinny white rectangle leaving room to cut it out. If you are using a shorter sentiment, stamp the sentiment slightly to the right side, but remember to leave an edge so you can cut it out.
Pick out the long, wavy edge, banner die from the Floral Gallery Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the line between the two strips of designer paper and the left edge is about 3/4" from the left edge of the card.
Mount the large, more solid, single flower image from the Art Gallery Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" white rectangle.
Mount the large, less filled in, single flower image from the Art Gallery Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped pink flower.
If you are NOT using the Gilded Leafing Embellishment, then mount the small, single flower petal image from the Art Gallery Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the stamped flower cut out. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again in the same spot so it is a darker red.
If you are using the Gilded Leafing Embellishment, then skip this step and proceed with the next step.
Pick out the matching large flower die from the Floral Gallery Dies. Put it on top of the stamped flower image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Open the Gilded Leafing Embellishment and pour at least some of it into a large container with a lid. Be careful, the leafing tends to go everywhere!
Mount the small, single flower petal image from the Art Gallery Set on Block A. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the stamped flower cut out.
Lay the VersaMark stamped flower cut out on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Heat & Stick Powder so it covers the center on the flower cut out. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
BE READY TO WORK QUICKLY!
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny, clear, and smooth).
Place the flower cut out with heated powder upside down into the Gilded Leafing Embellishment container and press down lightly.
Remove the flower cut out from the container and use the flat paintbrush or your fingers to brush off excess leafing embellishment. Return the leafing embellishment to the container to use again later.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the flower cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the top of the top designer paper strip and is centered over the sentiment cut out.
Cut a 4" piece of the Fine Art 3/8" Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle on the left side of the sentiment cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a medium gem from the sheet of Gilded Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the card.
