T his is the first card from the April Paper Pumpkin alternates that I created.
Project Recipe
Start with a half sheet of heavyweight white cardstock. Fold in half to make the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base.
Cut a piece of So Saffron cardstock to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 and cut one of the cards from the kit with the word print on it to 31/2 x 4 3/4.
Adhere the piece with the words onto the So Saffron piece and then stick that layer on top of the white base.
Using the saffron geometric card, cut out four squares that are 1 x 1 (you could go a little bigger if you'd like, mine are 1x1). adhere those, with dimensionals, to the top of the card front spacing rather wide as the flower in the next step is pretty large.
Using scrap white, stamp the flower from the PP set in Calypso Coral (or your fav color!). Use an aquapainter or blender pen to spread the ink around on the petals. Cut the flower out.
I picked up some color from the gray granite and tried to darken the center of the card a bit as well. I then tried to go over that with the wink of stella to add some definition to the center of the flower.
Final step is to put dimensionals on the back of the flower and stick the twine to them so they stay in place. Put the flower over the squares.
Add some jewels to the top and bottom corners for a little glitz and you are done.
