Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2-7/8" x 3-5/8" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-3/4" of multicolored triangles in lines on white background design from Dinoroar Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Mount the frog on a branch image from the Animal Outing Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on the front of the Old Olive card 3 times so the leaves are about 1/4" from the left edge and the end of the branch with the frog is in the center. The top group of leaves should be about 1" from the top. Stamp one of the images without re-inking. The bottom group of leaves should be about 2" from the bottom. The leaves can overlap a bit. Leave the stamp on the block.
Rotate the frog on a branch image on Block C so the leaves are now pointing off to the right side. Stamp it on the front of the Old Olive card 3 times so the leaves are about 1/4" from the right edge and the end of the branch with the frog is in the center. The top group of leaves should be about 1" from the top. Stamp one of the images without re-inking. The bottom group of leaves should be about 2" from the bottom. The leaves can overlap a bit.
Mount the giraffe image from the Animal Outing Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" white rectangle so the top of the giraffe is about 1/2" from the top and the bottom left side of the giraffe's neck is about 1/2" from the left side.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped giraffe rectangle on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Dark and Light Mango Melody Markers to color in the giraffe's spots and highlight the shadows under his chin, in his ears, and around his eye and nostril.
Use the Dark and Light Pineapple Punch Markers to color in the rest of the giraffe.
Use the Color Lifter Marker to remove any excess color as needed.
Adhere the strip of Dinoroar Designer Paper to the bottom of the colored giraffe rectangle.
Adhere the colored giraffe/designer paper rectangle to the Mango Melody rectangle.
Adhere the matted giraffe rectangle to the front of the card so it is about 5/8" from the top, left, and right edges.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up several Lovely Lipstick triangles from the Dinoroar Enamel Shapes being sure to get the adhesives as well. Adhere them in a line across the seam between the white cardstock and the designer paper. Alternate the direction of the points each time. You can leave a small space (about 1") on the right side without shapes as that area will be covered with the sentiment punch out in a later step.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up an Old Olive leaf branch from the Dinoroar Enamel Shapes being sure to get the adhesive as well. Adhere it to the card front so it appears to be coming out of the giraffe's mouth.
Mount the "Wild About You" sentiment from the Animal Outing Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it near the bottom of the vertical white strip. Leave room to punch it out.
Unlock the Timeless Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out to the front of the card so it is centered over the designer paper/enamel shapes on the right side about 3/8" from the right side of the designer paper.
