F un congratulations card using the eclipse technique and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 6" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3//4" x 5-1/8" from Bermuda Bay Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Amazing Life Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "Yay!" sentiment from the Amazing Life Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the white rectangle. You don't need to stamp along the bottom 1" as that area will be covered by the Bermuda Bay strip and ribbon. Rotate the stamp slightly every time you stamp. Let some of the images go off the top and side edges. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Place the stamped white rectangle on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, and Soft Sea Foam Markers to color in the large, full portions of the letters.
Use the Light Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, and Soft Sea Foam Markers to color in the shadows around the letters.
Use the Light Smoky Slate Marker to color in the background around the words. You don't have to color the bottom 1" as that area will be covered by the Bermuda Bay strip and ribbon eventually.
Pick out the letters "Y" and "A" and the exclamation point framelits from the Large Letters Framelits. Place the stamped and colored white rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the "Y" framelit on top so it is about 3/4" from the left edge and about 3/8" from the top edge. Place the "A" framelit just to the right of the "Y" framelit so it is even and about 1/4" apart. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Remove the cut out "Y" and cut out "A" Make sure you get the center triangle cut out from the center of the "A." Put all the pieces aside for now.
Put the stamped and colored white rectangle with the "Y" and "A" cut out back on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the "A" framelit back on top TEMPORARILY so it is centered over the "A" cut out (this is just to help with lining things up evenly). Place the "Y" framelit on top so it is just to the right of the "A" framelit so it is even and about 1/4" apart. Place the exclamation point framelit just to the right of the "Y" framelit so it is even and about 1/4" apart. REMOVE THE "A" FRAMELIT. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Remove the cut out "Y" and cut out exclamation point. Make sure you get the dot cut out from the exclamation point Put all the pieces aside for now.
Place the stamped and colored white rectangle with the letters cut out of it on the Stampin' Trimmer so one long edge is horizontal across the top. Trim the edges down as needed so the finished piece is 5-1/8" long.
Tip: If you cut this layer a little longer than you need before stamping and coloring it and then cutting out the letters, it is easier to trim down the ends as needed when you are done to make sure the cut out word is centered.
Mount the "You are amazing!" sentiment from the Amazing Life Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Bermuda Bay strip as close to the bottom edge as possible.
Cut a 6" piece of the Poppy Parade 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock layers so it covers the seam between the two layers. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere it to the Soft Sea Foam layer.
Adhere the matted layers to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out letters inside their cut out spaces on the colored white rectangle. Off set them just a tiny bit so you can see the Soft Sea Foam layer just a bit on the bottom and right edges. Don't forget to adhere the dot of the exclamation point. Make sure you are lining up the correct "Y" cut out in each space (so they match the words on the background).
Put a small amount of Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the triangle cut out piece from the inside of the letter "A." Use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick to help position the triangle cut out in the center of the letter "A" cut out already adhered to the card front.
Cut a 4" piece of the Poppy Parade 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front in the center and tie it in place using a half knot . Trim the ends.
Use the brush tip of the Poppy Parade Dark Stampin' Blends to color three small, one medium, and one large heart on a sheet of Heart Epoxy Droplets while they are on the sheet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored droplets making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere the three small and one medium heart droplets randomly to the top of the card around the "Yay!" eclipse letters. Adhere the large heart at a slight angle just to the right of the sentiment on the Bermuda Bay strip.
