Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and doily pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer and Paper Snips:
- 8" x 9" from Tranquil Tide Cardstock scored at 4" and 5" when a 9" side is along the top of the Trimmer and at 3/4" in on both other sides
- 2 pieces each 3-3/4" x 6-1/4" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 3- 5/8" x 6-1/8" of blue/green shimmery flowers on mottled white and light green background from Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-5/8" x 3-1/8" from Tranquil Tide Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- quarter piece of Pearlized Doily
Fold along all score lines on the large piece of Tranquil Tide Cardstock using a Bone Folder.
Use Paper Snips to cut along the score lines at the 4" x 5" mark only until you hit the crossing score line at the 3/4" mark on both sides of the cardstock.
Put Tear & Tape Adhesive along the outer edge of one of the 3/4" x 4" tabs on each side of the cardstock. Remove the protective backings and fold the sides together with the tiny tab on the inside to make the open topped box.
Adhere the rectangles of Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to the large rectangles of Mint Macaron Cardstock.
Adhere the matted designer paper pieces to the front and back of the box.
Mount the large flower arrangement with tag area on Block E. Carefully put pieces of Scotch (cello) tape over the flowers and leaves along the bottom lines of the tag area. Only the flowers and leaves that stick above and just to the side of the tag area and the lines of the tag area should be exposed. Leave the stamp rubber side up on your work area. Use the StazOn Ink Pad to ink up the exposed areas of the stamp. Remove the pieces of Scotch (cello) tape. Stamp the image on the small rectangle of Mint Macaron Cardstock so the top of the top flower is about 1/8" from the top and the small flower's left edge is about 1/8" from the left edge. Set aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Mount the "hello" or "thanks" sentiment image on Block D. Ink it up with the Tranquil Tide Pad. Stamp towards one side of the white rectangle.
Tip: If your ink pad is really inky, you may want to ink up the stamp using a Sponge Brayer instead so you don't get ink into the fine lines. Roll a Sponge Brayer across the open Tranquil Tide Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, roll the inky brayer over the stamp. Get more ink on the brayer as needed. I just clean my Sponge Brayers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Unlock the Tailored Tag Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use the brush tip of the Shaded Spruce Dark Stampin' Blends to color one of the diamond shaped gems on a sheet of Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems while it is on the sheet. Set aside to let dry thoroughly.
Squeeze the lid of the Tranquil Tide Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Pick up some ink from the lid using the Blender Pen. Scribble on Grid Paper a bit to lighten the color. Then, color some in the centers of the flowers and the undersides of the leaves. Get more ink on the Blender Pen as needed. Get more ink on the Blender Pen and color in the stems.
Tip: Stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the cardstock could start to pill and tear. Scribble on Grid Paper to clean the tip of the Blender Pen until no more color is coming off.
Squeeze the lid of the Old Olive Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Pick up some ink from the lid using the Blender Pen. Color in the rest of the flowers and leaves. Get more ink on the Blender Pen as needed.
Tip: Stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the cardstock could start to pill and tear. Scribble on Grid Paper to clean the tip of the Blender Pen until no more color is coming off.
Adhere the colored Mint Macaron rectangle to the Tranquil Tide rectangle. Then, adhere the matted rectangles to the front of the box about 3/4" in from the left and bottom sides.
If you haven't already done so, cut a quarter section from a Pearlized Doily. Adhere the quarter doily to the front of the box so it is even with the right side of the matted rectangle image and about 1" from the bottom. Put the rest of the doily away to use on a future project.
Cut a 6" piece of Tranquil Tide 1/4" Velvet Ribbon so there is a sharp angle on the right end.
Put a few Mini Glue Dots on the back of the ribbon. Adhere the ribbon to the front of the box so the left straight edge is event with the left edge of the large Mint Macaron layer and the ribbon goes across the bottom of the small matted layer about 1/4" from the bottom. It should cover the bottom of the doily quarter.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out over the ribbon inside the outlined punch out area on the matted image.
Carefully peel up the green colored rhinestone gem from the sheet of Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the matted image.
