B right, playful card to say hello to a friend using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Coastal Cabana Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" of pale blue washed design from Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Pacific Point Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Coastal Cabana Cardstock
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one short end of the Follow Your Art Designer Paper strip into the punch as far as it will go and punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Adhere the punched strip of designer paper to the front of the Coastal Cabana card so the flat end is even with the right edge of the card and the notch is on the left. The bottom of the designer paper strip should be about 1-1/8" from the bottom of the card.
Unlock the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Slide the Pacific Point strip into the punch and punch.
Hold the Banner Triple Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide one short end of the thin white strip into the punch as far as it will go and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
As you are ready to stamp using the Above The Clouds Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Hi, friend" or " You're off to a great place!" sentiment from the Above The Clouds Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it as close to the top of the punched white strip as possible with the notch on the left. The end left end of the sentiment should be about 3/8" from the center of the notch.
Mount the single, large, solid balloon image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp it on the vertical strip of white cardstock near the bottom with the bottom of the balloon pointing down.
Mount the large, outline balloon with stripes down the balloon image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped large, solid balloon image.
Unlock the Hot Air Balloon Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Get the balloon image centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked
Mount the tiny, outline basket image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.
Slide the stamped basket image into the unlocked Hot Air Balloon Punch and get the basket image centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the hot air balloon punch out and the basket punch out on the Pacific Point circle at a slight angle on the right side of the circle so the top of the balloon and the bottom of the basket will go off the edges. Lay the punched, stamped sentiment strip on top so it will stick out over the left side of the circle near the center. Use Paper Snips to cut off excess cardstock on the right end of the sentiment strip.
Cut a short piece of the Bermuda Bay 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon so there is a notch on one end,
Tip: To cut a notch in ribbon, fold the ribbon in half lengthwise. Use Paper Snips to cut at a sharp angle towards the fold in the ribbon. Unfold the ribbon.
Remove the hot air balloon punch out. Adhere the right end of the sentiment strip and the flat end of the ribbon strip to the center of the Pacific Point circle using a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Adhere the hot air balloon punch out in place using Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere the basket punch out in place using a Mini Stampin' Dimensional.
Flip the circle cut out with the balloon pieces and sentiment attached upside down. Put some strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back. Remove the protective backings.
Wrap some Silver Metallic Thread around your fingers a few times and cut it loose from the spool. Adhere the thread in loops to the back of the circle so it sticks out on the right side (this will be the left side when the circle is flipped back to correct side up).
Adhere the circle with thread and punched pieces attached to the front of the card so it is centered over the right end of the designer paper strip.
