T oday I am featuring two Sentiment Stamps. Sometimes all you need is some beautiful paper, a nice sentiment and a little "extra" something to give your creation a finished touch. As soon as I saw this particular stamp which comes from a famous movie about a greenie meanie, I knew I needed to do something green but tried a few things that didn't work out. This creation was inspired by Demonstrator Rachel Tessman at Stamp Your Art Out. I love it. I hope you do too.
Project Recipe
The card base is Real Red and is cut at 8 1/2' x 4 1/2" and folded at 5 1/2". The designer series paper is cut at 5 1/4" x 4. The Basic Black cardstock is cut at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" The Whisper White is cut at 2 7/8" x 2 7/8". The sentiment is stamped in black and the holly and berries are color with Real Red and Granny Apple Green Blends. The "hat" is made from three "trees" punched in Granny Apple Green. They are cut at various stages and assembled so that the hat curves as you add the layers. There are four pieces and parts of the individual trees on this card and while a little tricky to assemble, it is just a matter of positioning and adjusting as you go. The little red piece hanging from the cap is a tiny sliver that can be trimmed from a curved die cut or punch. This one was cut from the umbrella handle. The pom pom is a faceted gem colored with the Real Red blend. Have fun with it!
